| Geraldine
has worked as a professional harpist
and singer for more than 20 years.
She originally studied at the
Royal College of Music where she
won several prizes including a
scholarship for study at the "Mozarteum"
in Salzburg.
Her career has taken her around
the world. She spent two years
in Ireland where,as well as
performing at Bunratty Castle,
she was entered for the "Rose
of Tralee" Competition!
She then spent several years
in America, living in Chicago,
New York and Connecticut performing
in concerts and appearing on
national television and radio
shows.
After working for six months
in Bermuda she returned to Britain.
Geraldine has held residencies
at West-End Hotels including
the "Savoy" and has
played at many castles and historic
buildings throughout England
and Ireland. These include Dromoland
Castle and Knappogue Castle
in Ireland, Leeds Castle, Kent,
Highclere Castle, St. Georges's
Chapel, Windsor,Saltram House,
Southwark Cathedral and St.
Albans Abbey.
Her concert programmes include
solo harp pieces and songs accompanied
with the harp.
As well as concerts and recitals
she plays for Weddings, Corporate
and Business functions, Christenings,
Anniversary Celebrations, Birthdays,and
Funerals.
For Weddings she can play classical
music, folk tunes and arrangements
of popular songs and show tunes.(And
Yes, she can even play "Stairway
to Heaven"!)
With her lovely Soprano voice
she can perform such favourites
as "Ave Maria" or
"On Wings of Song",
during the Signing of the Register
accompanied by the harp or play
classics such as "Canon
in D" by Pachelbel as a
harp solo.
Whatever the function, Geraldine
is happy to adapt her repertoire
to suit the occasion and the
wishes of the client.
The superb Lyon and Healy gold
and maple harp which she currently
uses, will add a memorable touch
of elegance and sophistication
to any special occasion.
